Illuliaq The massive iceberg city of Illuliaq is hewn out of the living ice. Tunnels and caverns form homes, great halls, streets, and even major thoroughfares. A cavern in the center acts as the city center. The lower levels are flooded, while the upper levels remain dry. There are docks and landing bays both above and below water. Imbued with ancient magic, the ice never melts even in the height of summer. Ancient magic also anchors the city in place against the powerful arctic currents. It is said that, in times of emergency, the city may be moved. But the last reported incident was several generations ago. The secret of this magic is now lost.

Puffin Crags Enormous, craggy, rocks jut out of the water like crooked teeth. Between them, smaller rocks spear out of the crashing waves,, making these waters hazardous for boats and ships. Seals and sea cows lounge at the water’s edge. The sheer sides of the rocks are home to massive colonies of puffins that the Northmers cultivate for food. Underwater, extensive oyster beds cling to the craggy rock face.

Kelp Forest Thick, dense, kelp forests thrive in the shallower, relatively warmer, southern waters. The forest is teeming with all manner of sea life from shellfish to fish, seals, and other prey. Sea cow herders use leopard seals to shepherd their flocks around the edges of the forest. Those who venture within must be careful. The forest is infused with ley that confuses and disorients. It is said there may be an ancient ruin at the heart of the forest, though no one has ever found anything but the odd artifact.

Nika:
Though not as colorful as the reefs to the south, the kelp forests are teeming with life. It is home to countless species of fish, shrimp, mussels, lobsters, etc, which in turn attract fish like tuna, as well as seals, sea lions, and other prey. he dense, twisting, strands limit visibility to a couple of tail lengths
Sea cow herders use leopard seals to carefully shepherd their flocks around the edges of the forest. They must always be on the watch for predators and other threats to their herd.
Be careful if you wander too far into the forests. In addition to large, dangerous predators, the forests are imbued with Ley that causes confusion and disorientation. If you wander into the wrong spot, you might wander in circles forever, or find yourself tangled in kelp fronds that move of their own accord. Many strange tales are told of this place. Some say an active ancient site may be in the center of the forest, but none have found anything but the occasional artifact.
