Sikuliaq-Njordan Sea
Known to the Northmers as The Sikuliaq–and to the Barioths, the Njordan Sea–the name of Linea’s most frigid waters remains contested between them. Neutral parties tend to call it the Arctic Sea, to avoid stepping on any fins or toes. By any name, the harsh and unforgiving sea is incredibly dangerous. Furious gales and turbulent currents surge between bergs of ice and jagged, rocky islands; a navigational threat to any ship whose captain braves its violent surf. Despite glacial temperatures beneath the freezing blue waves, the sea is home to a thriving ecosystem abundant in wildlife with breathtaking views of the Ferthbak Mountains. - Nika: On the northern edge of Atalan territory. Nilaya (Sea? Gulf? Bay?)
A string of lush tropical islands surrounded by equally lush coral reefs. Most settlements center around an island and spill into the surrounding reefs. The turquoise waters are sun-warmed and clear. The architecture of the Islands is colorful, vibrant, and beautifully decorated with carvings and sculpture. Islanders value beauty, music, and all kinds of art. Of all the Atalan, Islanders are the most welcoming of outsiders. It’s not unheard of for non-sirens to live or settle here. Scent:The islands carry the scents of tropical fruits and flowers, with notes of spice, musk, and a general green undertone from the rainforests that cover them.

Tamasin Abyss
A deep abyss plunging into inky blackness. The frigid, sunless, depths seem to absorb all light and warmth. The pressure at these depths is crushing. Explore this place at your own risk. The ancient Atalan found a way to harness the sea floor vents to heat and light their settlements. That magical technology lasts to this day, although it is no longer fully understood.

Horizons Beyond
Seagulls dance above the masts of ships that rise and set like the sun over the waves that stretch far beyond Linea’s horizon; they call down enthusiastically to the wolves upon each ship, their melodies a different song to every sailor: a welcoming warble for the merchant returning from afar with rare spices to trade; the victory screech of the daring adventurer who slew a kraken while on the open ocean; or perhaps the somber longing of familiar places never to be known again. Though some sounds can never be forgotten, even when standing upon the shoreline, like shells waiting to be carried once more. These threads take place beyond Linea’s world map, including open ocean, uncharted landmasses, and even the distant past. Please see special rules for Posting Threads Abroad prior to posting.
